Although the basis of Terry Kelley's "A Pittance of Time" takes place in Nova Scotia, the fact remains that all to often we neglect to honor and respect those who give of themselves the ultimate sacrifice so that we may enjoy our liberties and freedom. So the next time you are asked to bow your head in two minutes of silence, it is not the battle or war you are honoring. It is the men and women who sacrificed their lives for you to live and remain free.
On November 11, 1999 Terry Kelly was in a Shoppers Drug Mart store in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. At 10:55 AM an announcement came over the store's PA asking customers who would still be on the premises at 11:00 AM to give two minutes of silence in respect to the veterans who have sacrificed so much for us.
